How CPAP Machines Affect Your Skin
Copyright © 2017 Lane Regional Medical Center.
If you are using a CPAP Machine, the mask creates suction over the cheeks, chin and nose. That suction mask on your face could possibly cause broken capillaries.
If you have seen a doctor about redness and irritation on your cheeks, they may have told you that you have Rosacea. Broken capillaries can develop from the suction cup pulling on your skin, creating the problem. I recommend you try other styles of masks that are more comfortable for the skin, such as those that leave more room for the cheeks or attach just on the nose.
